The oils in this specific bar is inspired by a blend of oils, often called Thieves Oils.
There are various versions of the story behind Thieves Oil and the origin of its name, all of which revolve around the Bubonic plague. These legends date back to different periods, ranging from 1413 to 1630 somewhere in Europe.
One popular tale tells of four thieves who took advantage of the pandemic by robbing the sick and the dead. To protect themselves from contracting the plague, they used a blend of clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary, and lemon oils.
Details about how exactly the thieves used this secret mixture remain unclear. It’s likely they rubbed it on their hands, faces, and any exposed skin, though it’s also possible they carried the ingredients in pouches or wrapped a scarf soaked in the oil blend around their faces.
Miraculously, despite frequent contact with the infected, none of the thieves ever contracted the deadly disease.

As with all soap, handmade soap likes to dry out between uses. Use a soap dish that drains to keep your soap out of water to prolong the life of your bar.
While soap does not expire, we recommend a shelf life of 1-2 years. Because of the nature of natural ingredients such as essential oils and plant-based powders and pigments, scents and colors may eventually fade over time.
